Citroën Relay mini buses now available

Citroën agent Muscat Motors launched the new range of Relay mini buses, available in 14- and 17-seater versions, in the presence of regional manager Marcandre Biehler during its last event of 2008.

One Citroën in every five sold worldwide is a light commercial vehicle; one light commercial in every 10 sold in Europe is a Citroën.

The Relay window van is Citroën's largest to date and standard features include ABS, emergency braking assistance and driver's airbag, glazed rear doors with heated windows, a single glazed sliding door (on the nearside for kerbside access), with another sliding door on the offside as a low-cost optional extra.

It is fitted with a transponder immobiliser and deadlocks, twin lens door mirrors which are electrically heated and adjustable for added driving visibility, and a lockable storage in the cabin big enough for laptop computers.

The van range has a massive payload of up to nearly two tonnes and load capacities from eight to 15 cubic metres in the largest models. It is available in three wheelbases, four lengths and two heights.

A range of exterior colours is available, with metallic or pearlescent finishes also available on all models.

The Relay comes in a choice of three direct injection turbo-diesel engines: a 2.2HDi 100hp version, optimised for low emissions and low fuel consumption; a 2.2HDi 120hp version, with exceptional pulling power; and a 3.0HDi 160hp engine for the larger versions that need that extra torque, pulling power and acceleration when filled with heavy loads.

All three engines have manual transmission, with the 2.2 HDi 120hp and 3.0HDi 160hp versions being mated to a six-speed gearbox that has lower-ratio gears for extra load-bearing assurance and even better fuel economy on long motorway journeys.
