Online card payment acceptance made easier

A6IT has launched its Card Payment Toolbox to make it easier for companies to accept credit cards online. The Card Payment Toolbox reduces the time to market by supplying an already compliant and secure framework upon which corporate security policies can be implemented to ensure that card data is properly handled.

According to Malta Communications Authority research into e-commerce use in Malta, it is the smaller companies which mainly use e-commerce systems. Some 98 per cent of local companies had the necessary equipment for online shopping but were still reluctant to use it. The A6IT Card Payment Toolbox offers such capabilities in an affordable and easy-to-use customisable solution.

Representatives of major card brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discovery and JCB have developed specific standards for companies that process, store or transmit credit card data. All companies that handle credit card data have to comply with the standard, called the Data Security Standard (DSS).

A6IT has undergone a lengthy and rigorous application process before being accepted and listed as an approved payment processor.

Flexibility is key to the success of the Card Payment Toolbox. Clients are offered the option to host their card-accepting and processing pages either on their servers or on A6IT's equipment. A6IT offers a consultancy service to help clients meet the DSS standard.

If hosting is within A6IT's secure environment, integration within the client's order processing system is carried out either by A6IT or the client's appointed developers, following strict methodologies to ensure compliance, reliability and availability to the end client.

A6IT is an online payment solutions company operating a custom-built secure network for securely hosting clients' websites and servers. A6IT also provides specialised programming and training services to integrate its Card Payment Toolbox with clients' applications. For more information see www.a6it.com.
