Obituary

ELLUL. On January 1, at his residence, MICHAEL of Birkirkara, aged 96, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his son Richard and his wife Ġuża, his daughters Pauline, widow of Harry and Josephine and her husband Roger Sammut, his grandchildren, their wives, husbands and great-grandchildren, his sister Mary and her husband Ronnie Preca, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.30 a.m. for St Helen Basilica, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ELLUL. On January 2, after a short illness endured with a smile, at Zammit Clapp Hospital, St Julians, YOLANDA, aged 87, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters Yvonne and Blanche, widow of Chev. Joseph F. Spiteri, and Frances, widow of her brother, Dr Maurice Ellul, MD, her nephews and nieces, Martin and his wife Nathalie Ellul, Hubert and his wife Mary Spiteri, Oswald and his wife Ruth Spiteri, Liliana Spiteri, Martin and his wife Pauline Spiteri, Glorian and her husband Umberto Vella, Elizabeth and her husband Paul Vella and Dr Joseph F. Spiteri and his wife Carmen, all their respective children, other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the staff of Mater Dei and Zammit Clapp Hospitals for their dedication. A special note of thanks to the sisters and staff of Apap Institute for their loving care. The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital at 1.30 p.m. for St Venera parish church (opposite Apap Institute), where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

FENECH. On January 2, at Karin Grech Hospital, DORIS of Ħamrun, aged 65, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers and sisters, Salvu, Georgia, Tessie, widow of Godfrey, Phyllis and her husband Alfred, Polly and her husband Lewis, Gejtu and his wife Ġuża, living in Australia, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends, especially members of the Neo-Cathecumenal Way of Ħamrun. The funeral leaves Karin Grech Hospital today at 2 p.m. for Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest. The family would like to thank the nurses and consultants of Ward M4 at Karin Grech Hospital.

GAUCI BORDA. On January 1, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOE of St Venera, aged 70, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Marie, née Vella Zarb, his children Daniela and her husband Kenneth Farrugia and Roberta and her husband Edward Sammut, his beloved grandchildren Julia and Luca, his mother-in-law Edwige, his brothers Dr Lino Gauci Borda and his wife Louise and Edward Gauci Borda and his wife Carmen, his sister-in-law Nathalie and her husband Christopher Warren, nephew and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Helen's Basilica, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. KOCUVAN. On January 2, IRIS, née Cachia, widow of Ferdo, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Margaret, her brother Joe, family and friends. The funeral leaves Zammit Clapp Hospital at 2 p.m., followed by Mass praesente cadavere at Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, at 2.30 p.m. and interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

In Memoriam

BEATTIE - WARWICK. Cherished and unfading memories of a dearly loved father today, the second anniversary of his passing. Sadly missed by his only son Philip. This evening's 6.30 Mass at Jesus of Nazareth parish church (Nazzarenu), Sliema, will be offered for the repose of his immortal soul. A prayer is solicited.

BEATTIE. In loving memory of our dear uncle WARWICK today, the second anniversary of his demise. Always in our thoughts and prayers. His nieces Gabbie and Suzanne, and his nephew Peter.

BONNICI - PHYLLIS, née Savona. In fond remembrance of my dearest sister, today her 34th anniversary. It seems like only yesterday our thoughts are with you still. Your memory is a treasure forever. You are our guardian angel always watching over us. Eternal rest give unto her, O Lord. Today's Masses at Senglea Basilica will be offered for her soul. Lovingly remembered by Audrey (Oda)

CASSAR BORG - GEORGE. In loving memory of a dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on the 18th anniversary of his meeting with the Lord.
