Thirteen men were arrested for allegedly using or trafficking cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis at a New Year's Eve party held at Ta' Qali and other entertainment venues in Paceville.
Those arrested are aged between 17 and 43 and come from Żabbar, Kirkop, Qormi, Luqa, San Ġwann, Mellieħa, Birkirkara, Pietà, Naxxar, Għargħur and Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq.
Apart from the evident busy night for the Drugs Squad, the police said no major traffic accidents were reported in what can be considered a quieter night than in recent years.
Except for a few minor scuffles, no other incidents were reported to the police. A number of breathalyser tests were carried out on the road and during some parties and at entertainment venues in order to prevent any major accidents from happening, the police said.
