A man who allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend’s father yesterday was this morning given bail.
The threat followed an argument between Christiansen Bartolo, 27 and his girlfriend in which the girl’s father Carmelo Borg was involved and the police were called.
The court heard how while the police tried to calm down the situation, Mr Bartolo told Mr Borg he would shoot him.
Magistrate Silvio Meli said he took such charges seriously especially in view of recent events involving guns.
However, since no guns were found in Mr Bartolo’s possession and after taking into consideration that the charges were only contraventions, he granted Mr Bartolo bail against a personal guarantee of €3,000.
