This may be a silly thing to write about in the paper but I just couldn't help myself.

This Christmas my family and I were delighted to have the Monopoly Malta board game. However, we were a bit disappointed and confused about a few things which, in my opinion, were pathetic and don't make any sense and which I believe many people will find offensive.

While looking through the localities, most of which were rightly chosen, two stood out to be the biggest joke on the planet. All were supposed to be towns and cities, which is why everyone laughed when there was, wait for it, Portomaso and Tigné Point. Since when are these two towns? Could someone point me in the direction of the Tigné Point local council please? Or is that still being formed too?

And to make things worse, on the back of the board there is written, in the Maltese (not the English) section: "Jekk għandek demm Malti jigri fil-vini tiegħek u taf kif tagħmel l-affarijiet la Maltija, żgur se jkollok ċans akbar li tirbaħ... naħseb taf xi rridu ngħidu" (a loose translation: If you have Maltese blood coursing through your veins and know how to go about things the Maltese way, you will surely have a bigger chance of winning... I think you know what we mean).

I found this comment offensive. What do they mean by "la Maltija" exactly? I don't know, however if they meant it the way I think they did then they really should get rid of it. It is a childish and stupid thing to say. I would complain more about it but I have to go because I've got an appointment with the mayor of Portomaso.
