The University of Malta yesterday clarified that it had no connection with the organisation which recently gave an honoris causa degree to Lino Banfi and other Italian personalities.

Referring to reports in the local and Italian media, the university said this popular Italian actor was awarded an honoris causa degree in Scienza delle Comunicazione by the University of St Cyril, the seat of which is in Valletta.
