Catenians celebrate centenary

The Catenian Association recently held a Solemn High Mass concelebrated by 100 priests at the Metropolitan Cathedral of St Paul in Mdina.

Catenians are like-minded members who uphold Catholic ethics at home and in the workplace, with several individual members deeply involved in the support of their local parish and clergy.

Mass was presided by Archbishop Paul Cremona, assisted by the Apostolic Nuncio Tommaso Caputo, Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca, Bishop Emeritus of Kuwait Adeodatus Micallef, 18 members of the Cathedral Chapter, nine reverend canons and 69 other religious priests from the various parishes and communities in Malta and Gozo. The Mdina Metropolitan Cathedral choir, under choirmaster and organist John Aquilina, sang hymns during the celebration.

Among those present were Catenians from the Victoria, Gozo, Mensija, Valletta and St Julian's circles, a UK contingent of 119 members, and Grand President David Taylor and his wife Kathleen.

Mass was followed by a gala dinner at the Corinthia Palace Hotel and Spa, Attard.
