Celebrations were recently held to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Society of the Holy Name of God, more commonly known as Ix-Xirka ta' l-Isem Imqaddes t'Alla.

In his homily during Mass, Archbishop Paul Cremona, who belongs to the same order as the Society's founder, Dominican Fr Gerald Paris, praised the work done by this society in combating blasphemous utterances by fellow Maltese.
