Reference is made to the comments regarding the street lights on the outer part of Ġlormu Cassar Avenue, Valletta, in the caption story 'Beware the plant pot.' (The Sunday Times, December 7).

The street lights were out of service due to a fault and not because they were 'switched off'. Enemalta Corporation has since rectified the situation and the street lighting is back to normal.

Editor's note: The lights were back on two days after The Sunday Times highlighted the matter.
