Charles N'Zogbia wants to leave Newcastle next month. The French international told reporters he has grown frustrated at the lack of first-team football at St James' Park and is ready to return home.

Arsenal and Paris SG have both been linked with the Newcastle winger who is keen on a new challenge away from Tyneside.

"After four years at Newcastle, I want to reach a higher level of ambition. I don't think that is possible here," N'Zogbia said.

"I have given my all to the club, and I will go on to do so as long as I play. But I would like to reach a new level by finding a new challenge at a new side."

Grayson named new Leeds manager

Leeds United have appointed Simon Grayson as their new manager. The former Blackpool coach replaces Gary McAllister who was sacked by the League One club last weekend.

Blackpool had initially refused Leeds permission to speak to the 39-year-old, who guided the club to promotion to the Championship in 2007.

Grayson joins Leeds after a six-year stint at Blackpool, first as a player then as manager. He started his career at Elland Road as an apprentice and made two senior appearances for the club before joining Leicester in 1992.

Grayson becomes the ninth manager at Elland Road in the last 10 years.

Keeper Zaluska to join Celtic

Goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska has signed a pre-contract agreement with Celtic. The 26-year-old will complete his move to the Scottish champions at the end of the season when his current deal with Dundee United expires.

Last week, Zaluska rejected a contract offer from Dundee United and Celtic moved in quickly to secure his signature.

"I have ambition to play at the highest level and a move to Celtic would make that possible," Zaluska said.

"I have been in the United team for a year now and I think I am ready for a step up."

Juventus trail Brazilian Augusto

Juventus are reportedly chasing the signature of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Renato Augusto.

Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli this week said the Bianconeri will not make any signings in January but speculation is still rife that the Turin giants will sign the Brazilian attacking midfielder.

Leverkusen signed Augusto from Flamengo last summer. The 20-year-old has been impressive in the Bundesliga and could be an alternative to Werder Bremen ace Diego, who has been in the Juve frame for months.

The Turin giants will have to fork out £10 million for Augusto who has also been linked with Inter and Liverpool.

Benzema fancies Real move

Karim Benzema admitted he would fancy the opportunity of pursuing his career in Spain with Real Madrid when he decides to leave Lyon.

The French international has been tipped to join one of Europe's biggest clubs in the summer and yesterday he admitted that a move to Real would be a dream come true.

"For me, Madrid is a dream," he said.

"But there are many clubs that interest me. Real are a great team and I have always said that I would like to play there.

"The English and Italian leagues are great, but there are more goals scored in Spain and that is where the best football is played."

Dalla Bona to leave Napoli

Samuele Dalla Bona has told Napoli he is seeking a move away from the club in January.

The former Chelsea midfielder has grown frustrated at a lack of first-team action with Napoli and will welcome the opportunity to try his luck elsewhere when the transfer window re-opens next month.

"I settled down well here but I have to find a new club," he said.

"I cannot understand why I am not playing and it is really disappointing.

"The situation is unsustainable and I don't think I deserve it. Hopefully, in January I will turn the page on a new chapter in my career."

Stalteri to play in Bundesliga

Paul Stalteri has signed for Borussia Moenchengladbach following his release by Tottenham.

The Premier League club announced that Stalteri would be moving on after three-and-a-half years at White Hart Lane.

The Canadian fell down the pecking order under Juande Ramos and had not been able to force his way into the plans of new boss Harry Redknapp.

Stalteri, 31, has quickly found a new club and will link up with Gladbach for the second half of the season.

Stalteri has previous experience of playing in Germany, having spent time at Werder Bremen from 1998 to 2005.
