Birkirkara will be looking to sign a striker next month after they released William Sander-Landim. The Brazilian forward had joined the Stripes at the start of the season but failed to impress and rarely featured in the team's starting formation.
Sander-Landim, who is likely to be replaced by a Bulgarian striker, donned the Birkirkara shirt for the last time on Saturday for the match against Msida St Joseph. Sander-Landim was among the substitutes.
The 2008 FA Trophy holders have meanwhile concluded negotiations with Bulgarian defender Ivailov Sokolov who penned a six-month deal.
The 24-year-old will replace Emil Yanchev who left the club last month.
Marsaxlokk are also looking to bolster their squad after an indifferent start to the season.
The Southerners, now under the helm of Patrick Curmi, are showing interest in Hamrun Spartans strikers Gaetan Spiteri and Dylan Kokavessis.
The 2007 Malta champions want to take Spiteri on loan for the rest of the season and sign Kokavessis on a permanent basis.
They are waiting a response from the Spartans before officially opening negotiations.
Hamrun foreigners
On their part, Hamrun are expected to sign two new foreign players when the mid-season transfer window opens next week.
Dutch striker Silvano Konvalium and Floris Anton, a Romanian defender, will join the club for the rest of the season.
Silvano and Anton will replace Brazilian pair Ronaldo Ortega and Alex Noronha who were released by the Spartans.
