The main square of Mellieha has been turned into a Christmas village

with stalls selling traditional food, plants and decorations, as well as

Sicilian sweets.

Entertainment is being provided on a stage that has been put up for the

purpose.

The stalls are being run by the organisations of the village and most

will be donating their profit to charity.

Food and drink include 18th century coffee, Christmas turkey and

chicken, quail, honey rings and imbuljuta (a traditional chestnut

Christmas drink).

On Christmas Eve to Christmas Day the stalls will remain open and an

open air (under a tent) Christmas breakfast will be served in the morning.

Another feature in the Milied Melliehi is an exhibition of cribs.
