The online publication igamingprofilermalta.com, set up early this year by Set Ltd, is preparing the launch of its first publication.
With a focus on the burgeoning iGaming industry in Malta, the quarterly journal will review activities and operating conditions in the Maltese jurisdiction. It will provide a range of articles ranging from information about regulation and legislation in the Maltese jurisdiction to the current and future challenges for the industry, a spokesman for the publishers said.
For the first time, iGamingProfilerMalta.com - in collaboration with RSM Malta - is completing an exclusive industry research whose results will be revealed in the journal's pilot issue.
"The research was a laborious work which, with the help of Maria Micallef - partner at RSM Malta - will become a crucial instrument in identifying current industry weaknesses, niche opportunities in the supplier network as well as important factors like the operators' perceptions on the legislation and the quality of the local services", Velislava Hillman, managing director of Set Ltd and the publisher of the new journal, said.
She said the aim behind the research was to quantify the strengths and weaknesses of the iGaming industry of Malta.
The publication will also feature an exclusive interview with the new acting CEO of the Gaming Authority, Michael Gonzi. The articles will include an operator's perspective of the proposed new regulations that were shelved. Alan Alden will discuss the industry data security standards in payments and Tony Axisa will investigate the current role of the Key Official. Also from an operator's perspective, Denitza Dimitrova will offer an insight into how licensing procedures in Malta are viewed.
Beyond these, the journal will examine the developments taking place in the EU with respect to convergence and harmonisation of regulation with input from prominent legal advisors dedicated to the industry. Pentasia provide insight into the state of play in human resources in Malta and new entrant Regus provides information about a new business model in operation at a local level for businesses with global office needs.
The publishers' spokesman said the journal will be of interest to gaming operators both in Malta and abroad as it provides a Maltese gaming services directory. It will also be of interest to the local supply and support network which extends to IT suppliers, legal and financial services and human resources and logistics companies.
Apart from a launch event on January 15, the journal will be distributed to attendees at the forthcoming International Casino Exhibition (ICE) at Earls Court at the end of January. The publication will also be distributed to the international gaming media and to iGamingProfilerMalta.com readers.
