National Archives receive copies of historic photos
A digital copy of an important collection of historical Maltese photographs has been presented by Midsea Books Limited to the National Archives.
The collection acquired recently by Midsea Books consists of various fine examples of photography by pioneer Maltese photographers such as Horatio Agius, Leandro Preziosi and Richard Ellis. Some of the images date back from 1857 and most are between late 1800 and early 1900. The collection is part of a collection owned by the late Professor Margaret Harker, who was the author of the book “Photographers of Malta.”
The National Archives are digitizing and cataloguing collections of historical Maltese photographs which will soon be put on line for research and archival purposes. Over 6,000 photographs have been processed to date.

Thank you Midsea Books Limited. I really like these kind of photos. I wish to suggest to people like me to go to The Imperial War Museum web site because there are some interesting photos about Malta.
