An initial consignment of 20 vials of Herceptin has arrived in Malta and will be administered to three breast cancer patients, the government said today.

Each vial costs €535.

The government explained that only patients who had underwent surgery and were suffering stage three of breast cancer could take this treatment, on a recommendation by an oncologist.
