Two East European men were remanded in custody after they allegedly held two other men at knife point on Republic Day.
Dmitriy Makhmoudov, 22, from Georgia and Vladislav, known as Lado, Mironich, 28, had allegedly given a lift to Nurislam Derbishev and Alexander Shibalyo, who were expecting to be taken home, on December 13 at 10 p.m.
They allegedly took them to an area behind the splash and fun park were they held them at knife point and allegedly stole their lap top and two mobile phones.
Defence lawyer Joe Brincat requested bail for his clients but, after hearing Police Inspector Kevin Farrugia's pleas regarding unheard witnesses and taking into consideration the seriousness of the charges, Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera remanded the men in custody.
Police Inspector Raymond Cassar also prosecuted.
