The Westin Dragonara Resort has kept the tradition of producing a gingerbread village for Christmas.
The gingerbread village, displayed in the hotel lobby, is the result of more than 72 hours of work, with 13 chefs putting their expertise together for the purpose. The concept was derived from the childhood all-time favourite fairytale of Hansel and Gretel. The chefs worked very closely on detail, and the village even features a moving train and a small waterfall. More than 25 kilos of butter, 25 kilos of sugar, 28 kilos of black treacle, 12 litres of milk, 66 kilos of flour, 12 kilos baking powder, 1.2 kilos cinnamon powder and 800g of ginger powder were used.
The video shows the various stages of production.
