A 36-year-old woman pleaded not guilty to lodging a false report of a fictitious theft.

Magistrate Silvio Meli, presiding over the court on Saturday, heard Doreen Guelloma, of St Paul's Bay, plead not guilty to filing the false police report.

She was granted bail against a personal guarantee of €500.

Police Inspector Anthony Portelli prosecuted.
