Archbishop Paul Cremona offered words of hope and courage to the 13 inmates following a drug rehabilitation course in the prison's substance abuse unit.
Mgr Cremona visited the Substance Abuse Therapeutic Unit in Imtahleb and spoke to the youths about the importance of keeping God at the forefront of their lives.
He reminded them that accepting Christ can help them open a new chapter in their lives. "Jesus always said that he came for the sinners. He came for those who need him because they are facing difficulties," he said.
The Archbishop pointed out that the people working at the rehabilitation centre are putting their time to good use and are there to give and help others.
In a short speech, one of the residents said they realised that their actions also made other people suffer.
"I think the biggest burden we drug addicts have to carry is the pain and worry to ourselves and to those around us," he said.
