• Projectnews is holding a book sale in aid of Puttinu Cares today at the Mater Dei Hospital foyer from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

• The Malta UNESCO Youth Association, in collaboration with Suret il-Bniedem, is organising a football tournament and a social event at the Marsa Open Centre today from 2 p.m. This is being organised to commemorate International Migrants Day and to promote tolerance and cultural diversity. Residents will prepare food and performances for all those present.

• San Lawrenz council is organising a Sunday teatime discussion at the Kempinski Hotel and Spa today at 3 p.m. Young Gozitan participants at the Cagliari conference 'Youths on an Island... A burden or an opportunity?' are inviting Gozitans and Maltese to share their experience and outcome of the conference. • The Cospicua council is organising a series of Christmas activities at Cospicua centre on Monday and Tuesday from 5 p.m. These will include a live crib, a Christmas parade, animation, and street theatre. Children will be treated to puppet shows, talent shows, and a visit by Santa Claus.

• Midnight Mass will be celebrated at St Joseph School, Blata l-Bajda, on Christmas Eve. Mass will be said in English.

• A solemn adoration will be held at the Sanctuary Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Valletta from Thursday to Sunday, from 10.30 a.m. to noon and 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Solemn vespers, Mass and a Eucharistic Benediction will follow at 6 p.m. The next meeting of the San Gorg Preca Group will be held at the MUSEUM headquarters, Blata l-Bajda (entrance next to Preca library) on Friday at 6.30 p.m. Young couples and adults are invited.

• The Pinto Band Club will be organising a karaoke night at the club premises in Qormi on Friday from 7.30 p.m. Entrance is free.

• The trappers association is holding a Christmas shoot-out at the Handaq range in Qormi on Sunday at 9 a.m. For more information call 7982 1130.
