As I left Valletta via City Gate around noon last week I was amused by a route bus, filled with boisterous celebrating law graduates of the University of Malta, coming around the Triton fountain.
Ah - hazy memories of a misspent youth and what I would give to be in their shoes!
There was, understandably, lots of yelling, honking (of horns and otherwise) and general bonhomie. All good fun, until, that is, one male graduate got down from the bus, wandered over to a bus with passengers waiting to leave, unzipped his jeans, and proceeded to offload his beer-sodden bladder into the street in full view of all and sundry.
I only regret that I did not 'capture' the image on mobile phone to pass on to the police. Then I could have saved it for the day when, no doubt, our erstwhile lawyer /notary decides to enter politics!
It seems that an expensive university education (with stipend, etc) has failed to instil in this particular lout, who is now a member of the legal profession, that there is a huge difference between high-spirited behaviour and hooliganism.
I hope he has a better grasp of the law when he charges a fee!
As for the police, of course they were nowhere to be seen.
