A coffee workshop was recently held at the Preluna Hotel, Sliema, by P. Cutajar's coffee expert Norbert Lange - a registered Lavazza auditor and trainer - to push excellence in the serving of Lavazza coffee in cafés, restaurants and hotels.
P. Cutajar, exclusive importers and distributors of Lavazza, recently organised hands-on intensive training sessions for employees on how to prepare the best Lavazza coffee for customers.
Mr Lange gave information about the origins of coffee, its history and the cultivation process right up to the packaging. He then demonstrated how to make a good espresso coffee and how to develop a clean and efficient system to produce the coffee in the shortest time while extracting all the qualities from the product.
Lavazza operates six training centres around Italy and training centres in its seven subsidiaries in the UK, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Portugal and the US.
In the early 1900s Luigi Lavazza invented the concept of the blend, the complex art of mixing coffee of different origins to obtain a harmonious and tasty product in the cup. Today, Lavazza is the leader in terms of quality and is recognised throughout the world as the symbol of Italian espresso.
