Former Brazil and Milan defender Cafu has agreed to join minor-league Garforth Town next year, British media reported yesterday.

"He's likely to be coming in April and just playing a few games for us," Garforth manager Simon Clifford was quoted as saying.

"It's an absolute honour to have someone like him lining up in our shirt and I think he'll also add something on the field."

Clifford, who runs a Brazilian soccer school that counts Manchester City and England defender Micah Richards as one of its former pupils, has persuaded Cafu to play for his Unibond Northern League club before he retires.

The 38-year-old was released by Milan last season after five years with the Serie A club and will join Socrates and Careca on the list of Brazilian internationals to have played for west Yorkshire team Garforth.

Cafu has enjoyed a glittering career including 142 caps, two World Cup triumphs in 1994 and 2002, a Champions League title in 2007 and two Serie A crowns in 2001 and 2004.
