Maltapost has called a meeting with the General Workers' Union and the Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin for next Friday after both of them claimed to represent more than half the workforce.

The UĦM said it had been given confirmation in writing by the management that it represented more than 50 per cent plus one of the workforce covered by the collective agreement.

But earlier, the GWU too said it had been granted recognition by the management as representing the majority of the workforce.

The UĦM said both unions had been called to a meeting in an effort to find a solution on which should make representations on behalf of the workers.
