Zimbabwe cholera death toll tops 1,000
The cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe continues to spread and has claimed 1,111 lives among 20,581 cases since August, the United Nations said on Thursday.
The new figures from the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as of Wednesday, included a new outbreak in Chegutu Urban in Mashonaland West, west of Harare, where more than 378 cases and 121 deaths have been recorded, it said in a statement.
