Obituary

BORG. On December 17, TERESA neè Micallef, of Birkirkara, aged 76, widow of Saviour, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sons Alex, Joseph and Pierre and their wives, her sisters Frances and Stella, her grandchildren, her nephews, nieces and in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karen Grech Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for St Joseph the Worker parish church, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza would be appreciated. God grant her eternal rest.

MICALLEF - MARY, née Agius, aged 86, widow of Francis, passed away peacefully on December 15 at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved children Nancy and her husband Joe Caruana of Australia, Manuel of Canada, Monica and her husband Paul Harper of UK, Charles and his wife Jillian, her son-in-law Kenneth Wilcox, widower of Joele, Maryrose and her husband Brian Jones of UK, Maryanne and her husband Philip Godwin Portanier and Mathilde and her husband Joseph Vella of UK, nephews and nieces, especially Emily and Sr Calcedonia, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cousins and other relatives and friends, especially Mary McBride. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.15 p.m., followed by Mass at St Paul's Bay parish church at 3 p.m., followed by private burial at Burmarrad cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Malta Hospice Movement, Balzan, will be appreciated.

MIFSUD. On December 16, RUDYARD, of Attard, passed peacefully away at Mater Dei Hospital at the age of 70. He leaves to mourn his loss his dedicated and beloved wife Antida neè Gili, his sons Norman and his wife Anne Marie, Pierre and his wife Natalya, his brothers Louis and his wife Mary, Edwin of Australia and his wife Edith, Edward and his wife Gemma, his sisters-in-law Margaret widow of Lino, Marlene widow of Hector, Eileen widow of Richard, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow, Friday at 2.30 pm, for Mass praesente cadavere at St Mary's parish church, Attard at 3 p.m., followed by interment at Attard cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Hospice Movement will be appreciated. The family regrets that they are unable to receive visitors.

Funeral leaves St Philip's hospital tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Tigné, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Satellite communications

The Malta Group of Professional Engineering Institutions will be holding a talk by Godfrey Vella on the benefits of using satellite communications to enable the use of conventional GSM telephony aboard ships. The presentation will take place at the Corinthia San Ġorġ Hotel, St Julians today at 6.15 p.m.

Crib in Birkirkara

A crib is on display at the Circolo San Ġwakkin, 71, Main Street, Birkirkara until January 4. The exhibition is open between 5 and 8.15 p.m. on weekdays and between 9.30 a.m. and noon and 5 and 8.15 p.m. on feast days and public holidays.

BMX competition

The BMX Association will be holding its Christmas competition at the BMX Complex Extreme Zone in Pembroke on Sunday at 3 p.m. Registration will be accepted until 2 p.m.
