Noel Magro, 39 of Zabbar, has died in France after having been involved in a traffic accident near the town of Lens.

The accident happened last night as Mr Magro was driving a trailer. He died on the spot. No other vehicles were involved.

He became the 15th Maltese to die abroad this year while working or on holiday (thus excluding those on medical treatment). There were 10 such victims last year.

The Maltese embassy in Paris and the consul of Malta in Lens are providing assistance to Mr Magro's family.
