The National Commission for the Promotion of Equality would like to clarify some points regarding reports in the media about "discrimination" against female lawyers.

The main message conveyed to all journalists that contacted the executive director of the NCPE was that the inclusion of such a paragraph (Art 25 - LN 279 of 2008) is a reflection of a cultural mentality where stereotypes are perpetuated.

For the NCPE, it is more of a concern that the said document speaks of "advocates" and "lady advocates". In professional life gender is irrelevant.
