MSB Valletta Ltd and Marine Management Services recently signed an accord for an interactive services arraignment in providing marine cargo inspection services and loss adjusting services worldwide.
Both companies are not freshmen to the marine inspectorate market and have enjoyed cordial relations for numerous years. Matthew Joslin, CEO of MSB Valletta Ltd, said: "The economic climate, currently in recession, was actually the catalyst that provided the added ingredient to both businesses synergising their resources."
Along with Hamish Robbie, a seasoned and respected practitioner internationally at the helm of technical competence and qualitative inspectorate services in food industry, MSB Valletta Ltd will provide the overhead structure to consolidate the service provision. Together, both companies will be converging their energies towards a single business unit and by realigning business strategies together may provide a fresh operating structure into a new venture.
Dr Robbie added: "Through this arraignment, the business unit may develop inspectorates to meet the stringent import requirements. In addition, the partnership provides a degree of innovation in surveying management.
This will underscore the skilled inspectors on the ground to ensure the quantity and quality of goods being transported - at any time during the import/export process and provide value for money."
While both entities will be retaining their independence, the cooperation brings together MSBV's resources and Dr Robbie's qualified intellect in the specialisation of marine cargo. The marine cargo business unit will provide a service to the world's food and agricultural product industries, helping to ensure product quality, quantity and safety such as the agricultural biology, post harvest technology, fisheries and meat technology sectors at major international ports including Malta, Rotterdam, South Africa, Brazil and the Middle East.
