This property is one of the best examples of Baroque architecture in Malta owing to its richly decorated façade on three storeys. The symmetrical façade is divided vertically into three-bays.
The projecting central bay is defined by an arched portal at street level, an ornate window at first floor with a closed wooden balcony supported on a highly ornate cushion corbelling at second floor level.
The side bays feature extensive adornment in the treatment of the door and window surrounds including small wooden balconies supported on ornate cushion corbelling at first floor level. The façade is crowned by a continuous cornice at parapet wall level.
Mepa scheduled No. 30 Triq il-Merkanti as a Grade 1 national monument as per Government Notice number 276/08 in the Government Gazette dated March 28.
