Mrs Bonaci was one of the founders of the LP’s women’s section. She was elected to Parliament from the sixth district in 1966 and retained her seat for 10 years.

The Labour Party said that in losing Mrs Bonaci it had lost a friend and a respected member.

Mrs Bonaci’s ethics had always distinguished her work and she always defended the workers and their families. Condolences were also sent by the Nationalist Party.

Mrs Bonaci was married to the late Gigi and had five children Tessie, Alfred, Winni, John and Nadia.
