I work in Malta as an artist and teacher. Both my wife and I who have come from the UK, live in Sliema. On Sunday morning we were verbally harassed and insulted by two men who were trying to sell us time share property. When asked where I come from, I declined to tell them as I am getting increasingly fed up with this behaviour. At that point, verbal abuse was thrown at us which was upsetting and sickening. This was followed by threats of violence. This happened by the Sliema ferry at around 11 a.m. and these were English men.

We have lived in Malta for nearly three months and are planning to live and work here for a number of years. However, this sort of behaviour that is encountered while simply walking on the front leaves me disgusted and think about how many other people have been treated like this in Malta. How are these people allowed to have such freedom to act in this way? It certainly does not give out a positive signal for people who otherwise have a great respect for Malta.

Am I the only one who has had this experience? How can we officially complain to these companies?
