Infrastructure Minister Austin Gatt tells The Sunday Times he regrets saying that the owners of the Danish Village should sell their business if they disagreed with the controversial Ghadira road proposal.

However, the minister accuses the Danish owners of adopting the attitude of many people in Malta who start making threats if they fail to reach their objective. Danish Village managing director Flemming Jensen had expressed shock and surprise at the minister's comments saying he had never experienced anything of the sort.

In an interview with Herman Grech, Dr Gatt also speaks in detail about the water and electricity tariffs and says that people have become used to paying for what they consume. He also insists that the unpopular tariffs would not drive any firm out of business or push anybody beyond the poverty line.

Read the full interview in today's edition of The Sunday Times. Excerpts are carried in the video above.
