Is this contributor Henry Borg talking about the students' elections or he's trying to gain a sort of advantage for the Christian democrats? Please be reminded that up to now, SDM has still not defined their principles to the students rather than leading students to the Dar Centrali!
PULSE has protested both in the times of a both Governments, very different from its main opponents who have forgotten any sign of protest since 1998!
The "zewg ucuh" Matthew Ellul is talking about have already been discovered when a bunch of SDM members ruined the University election debate and a week later acted as Gonzipn props during PN's mass meeting!
Shame on you for talking such nonsense.

Jiddispjacina hafna naqra dawn il-kummenti fejn ghal darb ohra il-Pulse qed tigi assocjata mal-PL meta il-Pulse hija ghaqda indipendenti minn kull partit politiku. Jiena wahda minn dawk fil-Pulse u naccertakhom li miniex wahdi, li ma nissaportjax il-PL izda lill-PN. Ghaliha kieku l-ghaqda vera ma kinietx indipendenti, ma nahsibhx li dawk mal-PN kienu ha jinghaqdu mal-Pulse ghax ma kinux ihossuhom komdi u l-ghaqda lanqas ma kienet ha tilqaghhom fiha kieku kellha x'taqsam ma' partit iehor. L-ghaqda fil-fehma tieghi uriet bil-fatti u mhux bil-paroli biss li hija indipendenti.
Prosit lill-membri u good luck lill-KSJC il-gdid!

Just to clarify facts, PULSE is a student based organization that holds social democratic beliefs. Inspite of this, we are bound by the organization's statute that PULSE is independent of any political party, organziation and union.
After a particular media faction had negatively claimed that there were ties or affiliation with a political party, a press release was issued to state PULSE's position ( in May 2008).
During the past General Election a detailed report was presented to the Party Secretary General, which analyized their political manifesto. Joe Saliba (back then PN Sec Gen) described the whole process and the report as being a faithful, reliable and an unbiased one.
Consequently, PULSE has protested under a PL and a PN Government in favour of all students and to voice their concerns.
What is more, there are several active PULSE members who support both PL and PN.
Those who still think that PULSE has connections with PL or PN are misinformed and incorrect.
Congrats goes to the PULSE members who campaigned through out.

I am an active member in Pulse, and I am sure that although it is said that Pulse has some connections with mlp it is not true. Infact pulse was against Marie Louise Coleiro for mentioning them in her manifesto because we are sure that we have nothing to do with any political party. Infact it was Joe Saliba himself that declined that our organisation had nothing to do with any political party.
Even so. I would like to thank all those people that voted for all the Pulse candidates, and I am glad that after all the hard work that we did together we did and now we are in KSJC. It doesn't mean that now that we won we are going to ABANDON all the work but instead we promise to continue on the projects we started last year and infact we plan to do other grand projects like we did!

Well in reality PULSE and SDM are both well connected to their respective parties. They both deny this, but unfortunately, in my opinion, the parties managed to find a way into the Junior College and University through these two organizations.
Those elected in KSJC and KSU should be independent, and numerous students along the years tried to keep it that way. However the parties use all their force to infiltrate such organisations.
KSU and KSJC have a lot to offer to students and should be praised for their work. Its not easy for students to volunteer their time during their studies. Unfortunately the parties and few students with bad and egoistic intentions give them a bad name.
I honestly hope that one day, students will be bold enough not to fall for their lies and send out a strong message to the parties that, at least at JC and University, they wont be controlled by political parties.
And that maybe the parties will respect students and give them the time and the opportunity to discuss, research and evaluate issues then vote accordingly. This will lead to an improvement in the political debate.

As an ex student at jc, i was always told by PULSE that i has nothing to do with PL ...
Is this true? Or are Pulse trying to hide something ?

@Simon Amato and F Spiteri
Well done PL? WHY?
I'm sure Pulse will be surprised and shocked at your comments, as you are associating them with PL. They have, on several occasions, denied such affiliation. On the other hand, if you have information that they are in fact connected please share it as it would be interesting to see.
Furthermore, this is not the first KSJC elections that Pulse have won.

@Mr. Spiteri, Simon Amato
You do realise that Pulse is indipendant and has no connection with PL whatsoever? In fact there was a whole argument about this :)
From your comments I can clearly see that you just comment to support PL, and have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what is going on.

@ F Spiteri and S Amato... isn't pulse (although harbouring socialist values) supposed to be an 'independent' organisation? Why does the MLP / PL and Joseph Muscat have to be congratulated too? I suppose that after all (after repeating it endless times to students along the years) there isn't quite a difference between FZL and Pulse...

Well done Pulse & well done PL. Finally the move seems to have started and changes are already being done in people's views. This is what I call a change in mentality and change in attitude. Well done once again!
Proset must also be given personally to Dr. Joseph Muscat who is the master behind all these changes which are happening in Malta. This is the first victory as a result of your input in Maltese politics, Dr. Muscat .... the rest will follow!

Great victory for Pulse... Well done, your council leadership would be very important, especially in these times of uncertainty for the educational system, considering that all lecturers refused the shameful remuneration package offered by the goverment. Hope things will not get even more serious. Well done Pulse.
