Three suffer smoke inhalation in house fires

Two adults and a child were last night treated in hospital for smoke inhalation after a fire in a house in Qormi.

The blaze was one of two reported within a matter of hours.

The police said the first fire was reported at 11.30 p.m. in a house in St Leonard Street, Kirkop. No one was at home at the time.

The second fire was reported at 2.30 a.m.

Both fires were extinguished by Civil Protection Department fire-fighters. Considerable damage was caused to parts of the houses in both cases.
