In this period a great number of University students are graduating and celebrating this event in a variety of ways. A green initiative which could be introduced and which would help these graduates commemorate this day in the future would be a tree-for-you programme. Students would be given the opportunity to buy a tree and plant it in a public place, as was being done in the four sites used in the tree-for-you campaign, such as the national park at Ta' Qali.
The graduates would be able to plant these trees and a record would be kept in some way or by means of a small inscription next to the tree of who planted the tree and possibly for what reason.
In this way, graduates would be celebrating this step forward in a way that would help the environment and enable themselves and even their own children later on to keep a tangible record of this memorable event.
More information about the tree-for-you campaign can be found on the website or by calling 2295 2333.
