Melita is supporting the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs in organising the second edition of the Christmas Village at the National Park in Ta' Qali.
This year the highly popular Christmas Village organised by the Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs returns tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday at the Ta' Qali National Park.
The first edition of the Christmas Village held last year registered an astounding success. Thousands of families packed the National Park in Ta' Qali over three days of fun and activities for all the family.
Melita will be present at this year's Christmas Village providing a unique opportunity to the public to experience Malta's only fully-integrated home entertainment and telecommunication service packages, including super-fast cable internet, high quality digital television, cheap and reliable digital telephony and the new Melita Mobile - a cheaper, simpler and better mobile alternative launching in February.
"This Christmas, Melita is delighted to support this family event which has now become an annual appointment in Malta's calendar of family events. It brings together essential elements for this special period: family and fun," said Stephen Wright, Melita's chief operations officer.
The Christmas Village opens from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. packed with activities all throughout the day such as a Christmas carol singing, a Christmas parade, cribs' exhibition and an exciting line-up of entertainers and performers including Miriam Christine Borg and the Gozo Children's Choir, the Philip Vella Band, Aldo Busuttil, J.Anvil, Olivia Lewis, Natasha Grima and many more.
Father Christmas will be in Santa's village together with his reindeers greeting children and posing for personalised Santa's photos.
The Malta Chefs' Society is organising a Christmas cake competition throughout the weekend. Portions of cake will be sold during the Christmas Village, with all proceeds going towards L-Istrina. On Saturday the public is also invited to join the 34U campaign in planting trees at the National Park.
"Christmas is all about giving back. This is an event that brings families together in the spirit of celebrating Christmas. It is also a unique setting to contribute to our environment through a number of events taking place as part of the Christmas Village," explained Mr Wright.
