Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi had a breakfast meeting with business leaders in Prague this morning and underlined Malta’s strong business relations with the Arab world.

He said one of the advantages of Malta’s business links with Arab countries was a double taxation avoidance agreement with Libya, which is set to be renewed shortly.

He also outlined the government’s targets to turn the island into a centre of excellence in seven sectors by 2015.

Dr Gonzi had a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek yesterday. He ends his official visit to the Czech Republic today and heads for Brussels for an EU summit and a separate meeting with EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
