Ryanair is to operate a service between Malta and Trapani from February 5.

Airline officials, who announced the service today, said the low cost airline will operate flights twice weekly until April 29. Frequency will increase to four times a week as from May 1.

The new service raises to eight the number of routes operated by Ryanair from Malta, the others being Dublin, Luton, Stockholm,Venice, Pisa, Bari and Barcelona.

The airline has also launched a 12-day Christmas sale, which starts at midnight today and ends at midnight on December 21.

One-way fares to Trapani are being sold for €1, taxes and charges included, increasing by €1 a day to reach €12 on December 21. The offer is for travel until February 28.
