Celtic failed to open a seven-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League standings yesterday when they were beaten 2-0 at Hibernian.

Artur Boruc's blunder blew the title race open as Celtic failed to record a 13th successive league victory. It meant that Celtic's lead remains at four points over Rangers, who hammered Hamilton 7-1 on Saturday.

A tight game at Easter Road burst into life 10 minutes into the second half when John Rankin's speculative shot from the distance slipped out of Boruc's grasp and into the net.

Celtic raised the tempo but Colin Nish sealed Hibernian's victory in the 69th minute following a slick break.
