Peppijna just won 2 silver medals in U. Bars and Beam last week during an international clubs competition. She was competing against a 16 yrs old Belgium girl who came first in all 4 events. Well done Pep.

Why should we look at this child's success from a negative side? That's one good reason were our taxes should go! It can be any body else's child some other time. Will any one object if it was his or her daughter? These people are great ambassadors to our country and they deserve all the support and help. Why should the parents pay all the expenses? Aren't they doing enough sacrifices for a better child and so for a better country?
So good luck dear Peppina and well done for having a healthy ambition and may your dream come true.

I ask if this is too much stress on a child of that young age...I think that while children must be raised in discipline environment, a child more than everything needs the love of his/her parents, a balanced life of study, sports, social and religious activities and a very high sense of LIFE.
While I wish her the best of luck but please see that she has a childhood too...medals are good to achieve but other things are more important.

@Peter Grech - What petiness, we Maltese can claim to be so jealous of others' success, that's for sure! Fancy giving a fig if it's taxpayers who are footing the bill for Pepijna's expenses. I jolly well hope so too! It would not be right if her parents foot all the bills which is what I suspect they are doing. How many of Pepijna 's friends would make these sacrifices? Getting up at 5am must be hard for her and her parents, but I'm sure it will all be worth . Good luke Pepijna - Chase loves you.

Best wishes to Peppijna and also sending appreciation to her wonderful coach, Mr. Albert Chun. He was my coach many years ago in Hong Kong and has shown much dedication to his students and the sport of gymnastics.

Good luck to Peppijna Dalli and well done to the parents who have recognized her potential as a gymnast and support her talents.
I would have liked to hear what Ms Dalli thinks about China... Not what is usually said about it, I would also have liked to know whether she focuses on school when she is at school, what her friends think about her being a gymnast and what goes through her mind while she is doing gymnastics.

Fantastic, this is where our money should be spent. This young gymnast can give us all Maltese great satisfaction in the future. Real dedicated athletes should be financially supported to go abroad and get the best professional training to be on the same level of other countries athletes. Young Peppina in sport the word IF does not exist. To be successful You MUST and MUST for 100 times strive hard and be totally disciplined. Good luck young girl. We MUST hear your name in the future and make us all proud of you.

Your gymnastic ability is a gift from God . And what a gift ! How many people in the world could do what you do? Your gymnastic ability is a manifestation of harmony in this world.
Not something to be twisted in a competitive ego trip.
Correct me if I'm wrong Peppijna, the gymanstic all around consists of six rotations (correct ?)
each, of course, watchfully judged and scored. Don't let your studies slide, however.
Remember ( you are still young ) Kerri STRUG who won a gold medal more than 10 yrs ago,
at the age of 17 and whose mother insisted that she studies first beacuse school comes first.? You know where Kerri is to-day? She holds a B.A in Communications and a Masters Degree and currently working in the Justice Department U.S.A. God Bless : )
