A brace scored by Steve Camilleri on the sixth day of the Italian A1 national league programme, when his team RN Bogliasco lost 11-10 to CN Posillipo, has helped the Maltese player retain his position as his team's top scorer with 15 goals.

Camilleri, who moved from Neptunes to the Italian team from Genova last September after a stint with Partizan Belgrade earlier this year, has never surrendered his place at the top of Bogliasco's scorers' list since the beginning of the league campaign.

However, he drew a blank last weekend in his team's 9-8 defeat at the hands of Latina PN, on a day when he was reportedly not in the best physical condition. With Arnaldo Deserti netting twice, the Italian's tally went up to 14 goals.

Roman Di Somma, with 11, and US national team player Jeff Powers, who is on nine goals, are the next in the scorers' rankings for their team.

Tomorrow RN Bogliasco, who have five points from seven matches, are due to meet SS Lazio at home.
