Belli's team win Lotto tournament

The Vittoriosa Lawn Tennis Club's annual Lotto team tournament came to an end recently.

This year's competition attracted the participation of 66 men and 36 ladies. Participants were divided into six teams and the captains were Vince Vassallo, Carmen Difesa, Joe Callus, Stephen Belli, Lino Scicluna and Christine Scerri.

Teams played each other on a single round robin basis with each match consisting of six rubbers. The four teams leading the standings at the end of the round robin phase were Team F (Scerri), Team D (Belli), Team B (Difesa) and Team C (Callus).

In the semi-finals, Belli's team beat the one captained by Difesa 48-43 while Scerri's team won against Team C 50- 41.

In the final, Belli's team prevailed over Scerri's, winning all but the ladies 'A' rubber and wrapping up the title with a 50-41 scoreline.
