Soldiers in riot gear had to be called in at Safi detention centre this afternoon after a number of migrants caused a disturbance.

Eyewitnesses said more than 100 migrants were seen throwing stones and other objects at camp staff and causing damage to the complex. Some were also seen trying to jump over a fence before reinforcements arrived and controlled the situation.
