Recently it has become quite common to hear or read people's views in favour of cohabitation. Unfortunately they are not aware of the limitations and disadvantages it involves.
It has become a trend for some people to think that cohabitation is healthy for a couple as it will serve them as good training experience for their future married life. It seems that they are afraid of marriage. The cause of this fear may lie in various factors, namely lack of maturity to make an important decision, fear of commitment, lack of money, etc.
Unfortunately this is leading to "pure relationships" which last as long as either side of the party is finding comfort and satisfaction in the relationship.
Little do they know that one cannot love another person on a "trial basis" or that cohabitation is correlated with unhappiness and domestic violence. Cohabitors have a lower commitment to the relationship than married couples have.
Research carried out in Europe and the United States suggests that cohabiting parents throughout the West are several times more likely to split up than married parents.
For this reason, couples should be exposed to the beauty and positivity of marriage and to the reality that making a decision to get married is a pure sign of commitment to the one they love.
