Police stops immigrants packed on pick-up
Some 20 immigrants crammed at the back of a pick-up van on the Mrieħel by-pass yesterday evening was enough reason for a police motorcyclist to stop the van to check what was going on.
Police sources said it turned out that the immigrants had their documents in order, including residence and work permit, and at the time that they were stopped they were returning to their quarters from work.
However, there was a hitch - the driver of the pick-up was booked for taking on too many passengers.
