The Ministry for Resources and Rural Affairs is inviting the public to experience the joy and magic of Christmas in the Christmas Village being put up at the Ta’ Qali National Park between December 12 and December 14.

The village will be a dreamland for old and young alike. Children will be able to participate in various games and animations, from face-painting and magical shows, to go-karting, pony rides, juggling and puppet shows. All children can meet Father Christmas to personally give him their wish-list or parcels. They will also have the opportunity to take photos with him! On Friday morning (December 12) a special children’s musical and magical programme is being organised to cater for schoolchildren.

And if you haven’t baked your cake yet you may participate in the Christmas cake competition being held in collaboration with the Malta Chefs Society. When all the competing cakes are judged, the portions left will be sold to the public visiting the Christmas Village in aid of L-Istrina 2008.

On Saturday (December 13), tree planting as part of the 34U campaign will be held at the National Park. Interested applicants for the Christmas cake competition and in adopting and planting a tree may call 2295 2333 for more details.

The Christmas Village will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and entrance is free.
