Man critically injured in car crash
A 24-year-old man from Naxxar was critically injured early this morning when a Fiat Punto crashed into a tree in Triq is-Salina on the outskirts of Naxxar, the police said.
The car was being driven by a 23-year-old woman from Zebbug who was injured. Her injuries are not life-threatening.
The road from Maghtab to Salina is currently closed because of the accident.
Magistrate Anthony Vella has appointed court experts to hold an inquiry. The police are investigating.

Independent of the accident, allow me to draw ADT attention that the area of the accident is very poorly lit, if lit at all. Cats eyes though seem in place do not reflect any light and the central strip is a quite a trap during night time. Some action to ameliorate the road lighting would help to reduce accidents
