147 Ducati Corse at Alfa Weekend
The only Alfa 147 Ducati Corse in Malta (one in a limited edition of 500) is on show at the Alfa Romeo Weekend which continues today at the Marsa Sports Club between 10 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.
The event is organised by local agents UCIM Co.
Finished in Giulietta Red, with Ducati Corse racing stripes across the sills and logos all around complementing a unique set of 18-inch alloys to match the shiny and satin-look bits, it is a delight for Alfisti to behold.
The black leather-clad interior boasts hip-hugging sport seats with red stitching and Ducati Corse embroidery on the headrests. There's lots of bling: alloy racing pedals, gear knob, and '147 Ducati Corse' kick-plates. White dial Ducati Corse instrumentation with ice-white illumination complement the classic Alfa red controls among which is a button for sport throttle response.
This Alfa does 0-100 km/h in eight seconds flat and has a top speed of 215 km/h, thanks to an over-boosted ECU controlling a 1.9VVJTD 16v engine shoving 170 hp down a six-speed gearbox. And all this from a diesel.
Also on display at the Alfa Romeo Weekend is a selection of current models, now made more attractive with new 2009-registration pricing, providing savings across the range of up to €10,000.
Classic Alfas, courtesy of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club and Ducati Motor bikes, are also on show. The Marsa Sports Club restaurant is serving Alfa Romeo-branded wines for the occasion.
